FELLOWSHIPS

University College Cork invites applications for fellowships dedicated to graduate study in special topics regarding the History of European Communication Networks, connected with the project, “Culture and Exchange:  Reconstructing the Communications Networks of Early Modern Europe.”

 

“Culture and Exchange” focuses a novel combination of humanities, social science and information science methods on unique materials in European libraries,  to study a phenomenon of worldwide significance:  namely, the historic transition to modern communication networks, which took place in the early modern period. 

 

Fellowships are for four years of study, terminating in the PhD degree.

 

The first two years include technical and subject training within the PhD program, Digital Arts and Humanities, accompanied by project work, followed by focus on completing dissertation.  The basic program is available at:
